Cathay Pacific Airways (CX) Economy Class: Melbourne to Bangkok (via Hong Kong) February 2004 As I arrived rather late at the airport in Melbourne, there was no one in the queue and the check in agent was very cheerful and welcoming. She even accompanied me out of the check-in area. Boarding was orderly although the whole flight was full. A flight attendant approached me as I walked to my seat and offered to hang my coat up. Newspaper and menu were distributed before the safety demo. The flight departed on time and drinks with peanuts were served shortly after departure. Approximately 30 minutes later, lunch was served. In-flight entertainment was fabulous; the new Studio CX system features audio channels in almost all Asian languages CX flies to. There were around 24 movies and short features to choose from in the video library and the movies on show were nice. Toilets were kept clean even at the end of the flight. Arrival was on time and my bags were out within 10 minutes. All in all, Cathay Pacific truly lives up to its 5-stars ranking.
